Richard F. McSpedon, Sr., born on May 5, 1942 in Yonkers, NY passed away on March 10, 2024 in Venice, Florida at the age of 81. He resided and raised his family in Hastings-on-Hudson NY and loved spending his summers in Hampton Bays, NY before relocating full time to Venice. Richard was an electrician for 35 years with the Local 3 IBEW, member of the Westchester Mechanics Association, avid & accomplished tennis player and veteran of the U.S. Army. He is survived by his loving wife, Anne McSpedon; children, Richard (Maura), Susan (John) Loveley, B. Elizabeth (Laurant) Barouch and John (Gillian); nine grandchildren; Molly, Jack, Claire, Dermot, Jane, Ava, Chloe, Winifred and Florence. Richard also leaves behind his brother, Joseph and many loving nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, George and Winifred Mcspedon; two brothers, George, Timothy and his sister, Mildred Decker. A memorial gathering will be held from 5:00PM-7:00PM on Tuesday, April 2, 2024 at Farley Funeral Home in Venice. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00AM on Wednesday, April 3, 2024 at Epiphany Cathedral with a committal service to follow at 12:30PM at Sarasota National Cemetery.
