Virginia Veralie Schulte, age 95, of Venice, FL, passed away on March 31, 2024. She was born to Ira and Veralie Penson on May 3, 1928 in Hazard, KY and came to Venice in 1980 from Dayton, Ohio. Virginia was a popular clothing model for local boutiques. She was active with the American Legion and Hospitality Chair for the Benevolent, Patriotic Order of Does. Virginia was honored as Senior Mrs. Venice and Heart Model of the Year. Surviving family members include her sons, James D. (Carol) of Venice and William B. of Venice; daughter Jennifer Maynard (Keith) of Cape Coral; grandchildren Nathaniel, James, Nicholas, and Josh Maynard (Eleisa), William Tanner (Holly) and Sarah Marie; great grandchildren Noah, Trevor and Korissa Maynard; sister Patricia Combs; brother Loy’d Caudill. She was preceded in death by her husband, James; grandson Jeremiah Maynard; and sisters Elizabeth Bablitz, Eloise Kilburn, and Jackie Lively; and brother Joe Caudill. Visitation will be at Farley Funeral Home, Venice, on Tuesday, April 9th from 3-6:30 pm with a service at 6:30 pm. Burial will be private at Sarasota National Cemetery.
