Mary Sweem-Kosmicki, 74, of Greeley, passed away at home on May 28, 2024 with her family by her side.  She was the oldest daughter of Don and Maxine Sweem, born in Lincoln, Nebraska on August 8, 1949.  She attended Catholic Schools in Lincoln and graduated from Pius X High School in 1967. 

Her love and leadership as the oldest child, was a blessing to her siblings, Terry, Ann, Chris, Tim and Jennifer. Her love for everyone was evident in all that she did.

She married the love of her Life, Dave, in Lincoln in 1987. They moved to Greeley, CO after the wedding and 6 years later, Christopher was born. Her love for her family was unparalleled and she always thought of others first. Mary was a dedicated volunteer and always carried care packages for the homeless in her car.  She traveled all over the world and never wanted to stop learning. Later in life, she continued her studies and completed her Bachelor's in History as well as a 4 year Biblical Studies certificate through the Archdiocese of Denver.

Mary’s Recitation of the Rosary will be held at 6:00 p.m. Tuesday, June 4, 2024 at Adamson.  Mass of Christian Burial 9:30 a.m. Wednesday, June 5, 2024 at St. Peter Catholic Church with a reception to follow. Inurnment will take place in Lincoln, NE.  Memorial gifts may be made to “St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital” in care of Adamson, 2000 47th Ave., Greeley, CO 80634.  Condolences may be shared at AdamsonCares.com.
