"Holyoke - Stasia J. (Kos) Krok, 90, passed away peacefully at home on June 28, 2017. Born July 5, 1926 in Chicopee, MA, the daughter of Joseph and Sophie (Rybak) Kos. Stasia was a loving, devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, godmother, aunt, and friend. She was a communicant of the former Mater Dolorosa Church (and a current communicant of Our Lady of the Cross Parish). Stasia was married for 58 years to her beloved husband, Michael, who pre-deceased her in 2008. She worked for many years as an accountant for Peter Judge, CPA. She loved to play cards, bake, and read as her prime hobbies. Stasia was a member of the Polish Women's Alliance Group 141 and the Polish National Alliance Lodge 525. She is survived by her three children and their spouses: Michael J. Krok and his wife Barbara of Clifton Park, NY, Joseph M. Krok and his wife Kelly of Pittsfield, and her beloved daughter, Marianne (Mania) Windoloski (who was her primary caregiver over the last four years of her life) and her husband Michael of South Hadley. Stasia was a loving grandmother to her four grandchildren: John (his wife, Alyssa), Andrea, Joey and David Krok. She is also survived by three siblings: Jane Pokora (her late husband, Edward) of Chicopee, Joseph Kos (and his wife, Christine) of Holyoke, Rev. Donald Kos of Rome, Italy, and a brother-in-law, Peter Krok (his late wife, Wanda) of Ware. Stasia was pre-deceased by her grandson, Michael A. Krok, her brother Chester Kos (and his late wife, Loretta), and by several brothers and sisters-in-law on the Krok side of the family. She will also be missed by her many nieces and nephews. She gave us all an example of how to deal with deteriorating health with grace and dignity. The family wishes to extend special thanks to Stasia's caregivers: Helen, Sophie, Daisy, Theresa, Anna and Alicja for their excellent care. Calling hours will be Friday, July 7, 2017 from 4:00 pm - 7:00 pm at the Beers & Story South Hadley Funeral Home, 646 Newton St., South Hadley. Family and friends are invited to gather at the funeral home on Saturday, July 8th for 8:45 am followed by a Funeral Mass at 10:00 am at Our Lady of the Cross Parish in Holyoke. Burial will follow in the Mater Dolorosa Cemetery. For those wishing, donations may be made in her memory to Our Lady of the Cross, 23 Sycamore St., Holyoke, MA 01040.
