" Brimfield, George F. Dickson, 60, of Dunhamamtown Palmer Road, died peacefully at a place he called home for the past several years with his caregivers and friends by his side. Born in Hartford, CT December 27, 1956, he moved to Northboro, MA in 1966 where he lived until college. He graduated from Algonquin Regional High School, 1975, Quinsigamond Community College in 1977 and the University of Massachusetts in 1982. While in college, George took up cooking at local restaurants and continued with that line of work for many years. George enjoyed live theater and movies, the Red Sox, reading, debating, drawing, writing poetry, jigsaw puzzles, photography, playing board games, traveling, and music. He valued friendships, especially those from his high school days at the Horizon Youth Center. George is survived by his sister, Marie Dickson, her husband, and three children, of Topsham, ME, as well as his friends Lynn and Peter Whitten, with whom he lived, and by all those who called him ‘Uncle George.’ George’s friends and family would like to acknowledge all at the Harrington Cancer Center, and in particular, Dr. Siedler, for his on-going care and efforts on George’s behalf. Services will be private. Beers and Story Palmer funeral home has been entrusted with his care.
