"Palmer-Genevieve C. (Lapa) Kareta, 85, of the Bondsville section of Palmer, passed away March 12, 2011 at Wingate at Wilbraham. She was surrounded by her husband Edward along with her daughter Teri and her husband Paul. Born August 30, 1925 in Palmer, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Agnes (Bozek) Lapa. Jennie was a lifelong resident of Bondsville and former member of St. Mary's Woman's Club along with being a communicant of Divine Mercy Church. Her love surrounded her family and she was a wonderful wife, mother and grandmother. Jennie will be greatly missed by her husband of 55 years, Edward A. along with her children Theresa M. Kszepka and her husband Paul of Wilbraham, and Edward J. Kareta and his wife Louise of Thorndike. She also leaves her cherished grandchildren, Nicholas and Kyle Kszepka, and Stanley, John and Joseph Kareta as well as dear niece Carolyn and Irene and nephews John and Philip. She was predeceased by her sister Mary Mozden and 2 brothers Stanley and Michael Lapa. A special thank you to all the staff at Wingate at Wilbraham, especially Jean, for the magnificent care given to Jennie and her family. Visitation will be Thursday, March 17th from 4:00-7:00 p.m. at the Beers & Story Palmer Funeral Home. A Liturgy of Christian Burial will be Friday at 10:00 a.m. at Divine Mercy Church. Friends and family may either gather at the funeral home between 9:00-9:15 a.m. or meet directly at the church. Burial will take place in St. Anne's Cemetery. Donations may be made to the American Diabetes Association, Western MA office 306 Industrial Park Rd. Suite 105 Middletown, CT 06457. "
