"Westfield, Erin Downing Harrison, 54, died peacefully Saturday evening at her home surrounded by the love and care of family and friends. Born in Holyoke, April 18, 1956, she was the daughter of Kathleen (Herbert) Downing of S. Hadley, and James Downing (2002). A graduate of South Hadley High School, Erin was a 4 year member of The Tiger Marching 100 Band. Her love and appreciation of music continued throughout her life. She also had a great love for animals, especially her dog Tyson. Erin also had a true passion for cooking. Erin has lived in Westfield since 1986 and was a 20 year employee of Marriott, serving as its Banquet Manager in Springfield. Besides her mother, she will be deeply missed by her husband of 19 years, Richard, along with her brother James Downing and his wife Karen of S. Hadley, 2 nephews James Downing IV of Granby and Matthew Downing of S. Hadley, her cousin Susan Sormanti and husband Richard of S. Hadley, her dear friend Diane Kaczmarczyk of Southwick, and other numerous friends and relatives, including her two aunts, Margaret Smith of S. Hadley, and Madeline Gelineau of Boyton Beach Florida. A private service to remember and celebrate her life will be at the Beers & Story S. Hadley Funeral Home, 646 Newton St., followed by burial in St. Jerome Cemetery. At the family's request, to honor her memory and the care she was given during her illness, please make donations to either Hospice Life Care, 113 Hampden Street Holyoke, MA 01040. or St. Jude Research Hospital for Children, 262 Danny thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105. "
