"Frieda B. (Grabiec) Roman, 89, of Oakland St., died peacefully on Thursday, February 1, 2007 at Wing Memorial Hospital. Born in W. Springfield, December 16, 1917, she was the daughter of the late Louis and Mary (Bator) Grabiec. She was a 1937 graduate of the High School of Commerce in Springfield and moved to Palmer in 1949. She worked for the former Specialty Brush in Palmer for 20 years before retiring in 1981. Frieda was a communicant of the Holy Mother of the Rosary Church in Chicopee. Her husband Adam E. “Lefty” Roman predeceased her in 1990. She will be deeply missed by her two children Barbara Martowski and her husband Stanley of Palmer, and A. Edward, Jr. and his wife Mary Lou of Westfield. She also leaves her brother Steven Grabiec and her sister Helen Osinski both of Springfield. Her four grandchildren Thomas and Peter Martowski and Erica and Jennifer Roman also survive her. A funeral mass will be Monday, February 5 at 10:00 a.m. at the Holy Mother of the Rosary Church, 26 Bell St., Chicopee followed by burial in St. Joseph’s Cemetery, Springfield. Calling hours will be Sunday from 3:00 – 5:00 p.m. at the Beers & Story Palmer Funeral Home, 1475 N. Main St., (Rte. 20). For those wishing, donations may be made in her memory to Wing Memorial Capital Campaign, Wright St, Palmer. "
