"Kenneth A Morse, 69, of South Hadley, entered into eternal life after a long battle with Alzheimer's Disease, on Saturday, June 3rd, 2017, at Wingate Nursing Home in South Hadley with his family by his side. Born in Troy, NY, he was the son of the late Earl R. Morse Sr. and Isabel J. (Lovering) Morse. Kenneth graduated from Tamarac High School, class of 1965, and was a 1969 graduate of Brockport State University with a Bachelors of Science in Mathematics, and from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst with a Master's Degree in Mathematics in 1971. Kenneth immediately entered the teaching profession and taught at Chicopee Comprehensive High School for ten years before taking a position with Mass Mutual Life Insurance Company. In 1999 he retired from Mass Mutual as the Director of Reinsurance and returned to Chicopee Comp. where he taught until 2004. Kenneth was a dedicated member of The United Methodist Church in South Hadley, attending bible studies, and becoming a lay speaker which allowed him to give sermons at numerous churches in the area; he also was on the board of directors at the church, serving on the finance committee. Kenneth is survived by his wife of 50 years, Beverly A. (Campbell) Morse of South Hadley, his son Jeffrey A. Morse and his wife Sandy of Springfield, his eldest daughter Deborah A. Couture and her husband John V. Couture Jr. of Granby , and his youngest daughter, Kimberly J. Seaver of Granville MA along with his precious grandchildren, Lauren and Hannah Morse, and Sarah, Jonathan, and Zachary Couture.. His sisters, Bonnie Morse-Gillham of Albany, NY, Linda (Ralph) Viggiano of Long Island; brothers, Gary Morse of Menands, Timothy (Linda) Morse of Troy, and Terry Morse also survive him.. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his sisters, Lori Duncan and Carol McGraw, and by his brothers Scott Morse and Earl Morse Jr. Visitation will be on Friday, June 16 from 4-6:30 p.m. at Beers and Story South Hadley Funeral Home, 646 Newton St.. A celebration of life service will begin at 6:30 p.m. Burial will be on Saturday, June 17 at Evergreen Cemetery, South Hadley, at 10:30 a.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Kenneth's memory to the Alzheimer's Organization, Massachusetts Chapter at 153 Magazine Street, Springfield MA 01109 (online contributions at www. alzmass.org), or Beacon Hospice at 815 Worcester Street, Springfield MA 01151."
