Kenneth Ray Henard A Servant of Christ, Kenneth passed from death to life May 24, 2015 in Falls Church, Virginia. He follows his father (Charlie, Sr.) and his mother (Elva) along with brothers Charlie and George, sisters Wilma and Katherine and niece Becky. Those who grieve include his best friend, Margorie Domazet; his son and daughter in law Mark and Elicia Henard, his grandchildren, Ethan, Jhana, Josie, Lily, Jude, and Benjamin; his aunt, Helen Kenner of Hawkins County, Tennessee; his nieces and nephews Lynn Henard, Bruce Henard, Nancy Evans, Todd Henard, and Renee Henard and numerous cousins in the Eastern Tennessee Valley. Ken was born January 16, 1931 in Indian Springs, Tennessee. His family lived in Massachusetts and Maryland before settling in Arlington, Virginia. His graduations included Washington Lee High School in 1948, and Benjamin Franklin University with a Bachelor and Master’s Degree of Commercial Science by 1956. He was a member of the George Washington Chapter Order of DeMolay receiving the Chevalier Degree in 1949, elected State Master Councilor of Virginia in 1950, and the Order of DeMolay’s highest honor for service in 1959, The Legion of Honor. He served as a Marine during the Korean War from 1952-1953 , receiving a National Defense Medal. His commitment to caring and serving others is evident in his continued membership at Glen Carlyn Road Baptist Church, and later, First Baptist Church of Alexandria. Visitation and funeral service will be held at First Baptist Church of Alexandria, 2932 King Street, Alexandria, VA. 22302. Thursday, June 4. Visitation will begin at 10:00 A.M. with a service to follow at 12:00 P.M. Interment at National Memorial Park, Falls Church, VA. Please consider a contribution to one of Ken’s special ministries, Campus Crusade for Christ C/O First Baptist Church of Alexandria in lieu of flowers.
