" Gail C. (Desmarais) Couture, 67, of Lathrop St., died January 30 at Holyoke Medical Center. Born in Holyoke, January 9, 1940, she was the daughter of the late Lawrence P. and Claire G. (Rising) Desmarais. Gail lived in Holyoke until 1946 when she relocated to S. Hadley. She was a communicant of St. Teresa’s Church and enjoyed gardening in her leisure. She will be deeply missed by her husband of 48 years, John Couture, Sr., along with her son John, Jr. and his wife Deborah of Granby. She also leaves two sisters Diane Marion of S. Hadley and Patricia Houlihan of Ogunquit, ME and a brother Lawrence of S. Hadley. Her precious grandchildren Sarah, Jonathan and Zachary will also miss her. Funeral services will be Friday, February 2 at 9:00 a.m. from the Beers & Story S. Hadley Funeral Home, 646 Newton St., (Rte. 116) followed by a liturgy of Christian burial at 10:00 a.m. in St. Theresa’s Church. Burial will follow in Evergreen Cemetery.
