"Palmer - Roland Iverson Outhuse, 98, died on May 30, 2017 at his home. Born March 22, 1919 in Nova Scotia, he was the son of Llewellyn and Rita (Outhouse) Outhuse. He has lived in Palmer for most of his life and proudly served his country in the US Army during WWII, 104th Infantry Medical detachment, and was a Purple Heart recipient. Roland worked as a carrier for the US Post Office for 27 years, before retirement in 1981. He was a long time member of Second Congregational Church, the Thomas Lodge of Masons and the Palmer Senior Center. He is survived by his children, Joyce Boswell and her husband William of Alachua, FL, and Douglas Outhuse and his wife Janice of Rye, NH, along with 4 grandchildren Keith Boswell and wife Maki, Andrea Boswell - Sczepanski and wife Melinda, Deanna Mazzei and husband Josh, and Jamie Outhuse. Additionally, 10 great grandchildren and 1 great grandson and nieces and nephews also survive him. Besides his parents, his beloved wife Margaret and his brothers Arthur and Andrew Outhuse preceded him in death. At Roland's request, all services will be private at the Beers & Story Palmer Funeral Home and he will be laid to rest with his wife at Hillcrest Park Cemetery with military honors. For those wishing to honor his memory and in gratitude from the family, please make donations in his memory to the Palmer Senior Center, 1029 Central St. Palmer, 01069. "
