"Christine Westwater, 62, of Rimrock Road, died January 17, 2007 at home with her family by her side. Born in Germany on March 15, 1944 she was the daughter of the late Hans and Marie (Burkhardt) Schlump. She moved to the United States as a young adult and raised her three children in Gilbertville, MA. She also lived in Ludlow for many years before moving to Belchertown in 1988. She was an avid world traveler, loved nature and her power walks. She was a loving woman and small children gravitated toward her. She will be missed by her husband of 20 years, Robert A. Westwater, her three children, Robert Fletcher of Westford, MA, Frank Fletcher and his wife Makiko of Superior, CO, Barbara Morris and her husband Timothy of Redding, CT, and four grandchildren, Maxwell and Kate Fletcher, and Cameron and Fletcher Morris, and by her brother Hans Schlump of Ansbach, Germany. Her three step-children, Catherine Rivers of IO, Donald Westwater of IN, David Westwater of FL, six step-grandchildren and two step-great-grandchildren also survive her. A funeral service will be Monday, January 22 at 11:00 am from the Beers & Story Belchertown Funeral Home. Burial will follow in South Cemetery. There are no calling hours.
