"Palmer - Bernice A. (Mega) Wawrzonek, 90, of 79 South High St. in the Bondsville section of Palmer, passed away on January 27, 2011, one day shy of her 91st birthday. She was born January 28, 1920 in Palmer, MA, daughter of the late Jozef and Annie (Wizkie) Mega. Bernice has been a lifelong resident of Bondsville and was a communicant of the former St. Adalbert's Church. She loved tending to her flowers and plants around the house and was a wonderful baker. Bernice will be greatly missed by her only son, Paul Wawrzonek and his wife Peggy Ann of Bondsville, along with step grandchildren, Douglas Zabawa and his wife Denise and their 2 sons Elijah and Billy of Bristol, CT, as well as Michael Zabawa of Bondsville. Besides her parents, Bernice was preceded in death by her husband Henry Wawrzonek in 2003 and ten siblings. The family wishes to thank the staff at Wingate at Wilbraham for the care and support they offered over the past years to Bernice and her family. A private Memorial Mass will be held at a later date at Divine Mercy Church. Beers & Story Palmer Funeral Home has been entrusted with the arrangements.
