May 6, 1941 – February 4, 2015 Leslie Sheldon McGinnis went to be with Our Lord on February 4, 2015 in UVA Hospital after a long hard fight with cancer. He is preceded in death by his parents Samuel McGinnis and Irene McGinnis, Baby Son Leslie Steven McGinnis, and Sister Ruth Wynkoop. He is survived by his loving and dedicated wife of 53 years, Evelyn Marie McGinnis; three children: Patricia A. McGinnis (JR Holmes) of Lignum, VA, Leslie E. McGinnis (Nadine) of Sumerduck, VA and Wanda J. Altizer (Byron) of Shipman, VA; four grandchildren: Drew Normand, Jr., Byron Altizer, Jr., Tara Altizer, and Jessica O’Hora; two great-grandsons, Grant Normand and Abel Robertson; two brothers, Samuel (Bud) McGinnis (Doris), Troy (Rick) McGinnis (Tammy) and his sister Joy Oliver (Winston). He was also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. Sheldon loved his family and was most at home when he was outside. He loved gardening and landscaping and he could grow anything. He was quite the mechanic and could repair any small engine and was a master at repairing clocks watches. Services will be held at Advent Funeral Services in Falls Church, Va on Friday, February 6th from 11:30am-1pm. Interment Columbia Gardens Cemetery in Arlington, Va at 1:30pm.
