Robert James Batenhorst, 49, of Arlington VA passed away at home on Tuesday December 30, 2014 after a valiant battle with cancer. He graduated from David Farragut High School in Rota, Spain in 1983 then ventured on to William and Mary, where he earned a degree in Economics in 1987. He then received a Masters from Johns Hopkins University in Real Estate. Bob was Managing Director at Cornerstone Real Estate Advisers in Washington, DC, a career that he loved to his core. He had that innate ability to make everyone feel special and was genuinely interested in learning whatever he could about the people he met and the places he visited. Robert is survived by his wife Katya and their daughters Maya and Lara, his mother Judy Batenhorst of Plymouth, MA , his sister Kathy and her husband Peter Oakley of E Bridgewater, MA, as well as his brother Chris, his wife Liz and their children Maggie and Sarah of Allendale, NJ. A Memorial Service will be held at the Columbia Baptist Church, 103 West Columbia St, Falls Church, VA on Saturday, January 3 at 10am. Reception at same will follow.
