On December, 7, 2014 Jack L Cooper died of injuries suffered at home in McLean Va. Dear Husband for 57 years of Mary Ann Stabile Cooper, Father of Claudia Cooper Koenig of Fredericksburg Va, Grandfather of David Scott Gallegos of Miami , Florida and Matthew David Gallegos of Fredericksburg,Va. Graduated, Curtis Institute of Music Philadelphia, PA, accomplished Trombonist in the U.S. Army Band, Ft. Myer, Va, Conductor, Washington Brass Choir, Trombonist in the Washington National Symphony Orchestra, Music Director at Bishop Denis J. O, Connel HS where he developed the Catholic school music program, Chairman, music department, Alverno College Milwaukee WI. Academic Administrator of Music, University of Maryland, Made Faculty Appointments for The Guarneri String Quartet in 1982. Upon retiring after 25 years service, Jack was an avid carpenter, Civil War enthusiast and had a great passion for cooking. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 2pm on Friday Dec 12th at The Cathedral of St Thomas More in Arlington Va, Reception to follow.
