Helen Veronica Jakubowski, nee Straney, age 78, resident of Arlington Virginia since 1997, died October 26, 2014 at her home in Rosslyn. She was born in New York City on July 23, 1936 and is a graduate of Queens College, New York. Mrs. Jakubowski lived abroad in Taiwan, Beijing, Geneva, Brussels, Rangoon Burma, Singapore and Bamako Mali, where she worked at the American Embassy as a para-consular officer. She loved travel, line and tap dancing and her family. She is survived by her husband Stanley, her son William Hallahan of Worcester, NY and her daughter Janmari Hallahan of Arlington, VA. She is a member of St. Charles Borromeo parish in Arlington and will be cremated and inurned at Arlington National Cemetery at a date to be determined. Friends and relatives are urged to make a contribution to their favorite charity in lieu of flowers.
