"Belchertown-Gordon Toussaint, 57, died Tuesday morning January 4, 2011 at his home. He was born in Edmundston, New Brunswick, Canada on June 29 1953, son of the late Camille and Rina Ringuette Toussaint. Gordon has lived in Belchertown for the past 22 years, was a communicant of St. Francis of Assisi Church along with being a member of the Knights of Columbus. Of the 34 years in the construction business, he was the proud owner of Toussaint and Son Inc. for the past 23 years. Our precious friend and father has been called safely home and will be greatly missed by his wife of 31 years, Ghislaine (Gauthier) Toussaint along with beloved children Erica and Luke of Belchertown. He also leaves a brother Allen Toussaint and his wife Diane of Springfield along with sisters Irene Remillard and her husband Lionel of Chicopee, Camilla Leclerc and her husband Serge of Chicopee, Diane Crafsic and her husband Dave of Chicopee, Nancy Toussaint and companion Marc Farland of Levis Provence of Quebec, Canada, and Brenda Toussaint of Ware along with 12 nieces and nephews and their significant others, 8 great nieces and nephews, and 2 beloved in laws, Denise Toussaint and Denis D'Amour. He will also be missed by mother-in-law, Denise Rousseau Gauthier, sisters-in-law Sylvie Gauthier, Maryse Gauthier, Nancy Gauthier and their spouses and children all residing in Canada. He was predeceased by 2 brothers Clarence Toussaint and Elmer Toussaint, a sister Linda Toussaint, and father-in-law Emeril Gauthier. Many loved friends will share in the family's sadness. Visitation will be held Friday from 4:00-7:00 p.m. at the Beers & Story Belchertown Funeral Home. Friends and family may gather Saturday at 10:00 a.m. at the funeral home to process to St. Francis of Assisi Church for a 11:00 a.m. Mass of Christian burial. For those wishing, donations may be made in his memory to American Diabetes Association. "
