Deborah L. Grinder, 71 of Burke, VA, passed away on Thursday, April 18, 2024 at home as she slept. Born October 13, 1952 in Tarentum, Allegheny County, PA. She was the daughter of the later Frank A. and Betty V. (Williamson) Grinder. Debbie grew up in Washington Township and graduated from Kiski Area School District in 1970 and went on to follow her dreams and graduated from West Penn Hospital School of Nursing as an R.N. in 1975. She went on to work in the operating room as a surgical nurse in Fairfax, Virginia, then on to Reston Hospital. She retired in 2020 when she broke her wrist. But, she continued her nursing skills while helping her friend Kathy Hieder. Debbie’s greatest passion was her nursing. But above that was her two cats, Toby & Annie. They were her babies. She was a blessing to everyone around her, especially her family. He was a die-hard Steeler’s fan, enjoyed cooking, baking and decorating. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Gary Grinder and nephew Eward Paul Grinder. She is survived by her siblings, Sandy (Grinder) Schirato and Mark (Jodi) Grinder, both of Washington Township, PA and 2 nieces and 4 nephews, 4 great-nephews and 2 great-nieces.
