Joana Elizabeth Romero

We are sad to announce the passing of Joana Romero of Lanham Maryland. She passed away at age of 32 on March 10, 2024. Joana passed away surrounded by her loved ones after a battle with breast cancer. She is survived by her father, mother, sisters, brothers, nephews and niece. Joana graduated in May 2019 with her Masters of Health Administration degree. Joana was a Management Analyst in the Office of Operations and Management (OOM) in the Maternal and Child Health Bureau (MCHB) at HRSA. Outside of work Joana enjoyed planning family trips and loved that we were able to experience memorable activities together! Joana was a phenomenal daughter, sister and aunt. Her love for Harry Potter and Selena were passionate hobbies she shared with her siblings and nephews. She loved to dance and sing karaoke to all her favorite old school songs. Joana was a beautiful, smart, young woman who was extremely brave. She made an instant impact on everyone who met her and on thousands who never will. She will remain the brightest light in our lives as she lives now in our hearts.
