Carol Lynn Russell

"Carol L. Russell, 43, of Harrison Ave, died suddenly on Sunday at Wing Memorial Hospital. Born in Ware, October 20, 1960 she is the daughter of Carl E. and Jean S. (LaForest) Russell with whom she lived. Carol spent most of her life in Monson and was a 1978 graduate of Monson High School. She had recently received her Associate’s Degree from Springfield Technical Community College and just three weeks ago had secured a position as a radiographer at Holyoke Hospital and was very proud of her accomplishment. Carol also raised and showed Champion Show Boxers for the past 10 years, a passion for which she gained local and national recognition. She was also an avid bicyclist and last summer completed a 75 mile charity bike ride for the benefit of Multiple Sclerosis. Besides her parents, she will be deeply missed by her son Eric Tatro of Easthampton, her daughter Kristy (Tatro) Brown, her fiancé Joseph Boudreau, her two brothers Mark and his companion, Jacqueline DeMatos, and Kevin, as well as her sister Terry and her husband Louie Picco, all of Monson. She also leaves two cherished grandchildren Devin Brown and Madison Elizabeth Tatro and a niece Deeanna Gunther and nephew Karl Gunther also of Monson. A funeral service will be held on Friday at 2:00 p.m. at the Beers & Story Palmer Funeral Home, 1475 N. Main St, (Rte. 20). Calling hours will be Thursday from 2:00 – 4:00 and 7:00 – 9:00 p.m. The family requests that donations be made in her memory for the benefit of her grandchildren’s college trust fund, to Kristy Brown, c/o Monson Savings Bank, Main St, Monson, 01057.
