"Veronica M. (Hill) Spencer, 68, of Westwood Ave., died peacefully on Friday, December 23 surrounded by the love and care of her family. Born in Northport, ME, September 7, 1943, she lived in Monson and Palmer for many years before moving to E. Longmeadow 3 years ago. A 1965 graduate of Westboro State Hospital School of Nursing, she worked at Monson Developmental Center for 30 years as an LPN before retiring in 2004. She will be deeply missed by her 2 children, Wendy Sears with whom she lived, and Paul Spencer of W. Brookfield, along with 6 grandchildren. The oldest of 11 children, she leaves 9 siblings, Amelia Hill of MN, Robert Hill, Nancy Webster, Rose McAvoy, Daniel Fairbrother, Mary Brown, Charles Fairbrother, Jr, and Timothy Fairbrother, all of ME, and Cheryl McQuarrie of AZ. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by a daughter Linda Spencer in 2004, and a brother Edward A. Fairbrother. Calling hours will be Thursday, December 29 from 2:00 – 3:30 p.m. followed by a service to remember her life at 3:30 at the Beers & Story Palmer Funeral Home, 1475 N. Main St, Palmer. The family requests that donations be made in her memory to Wendy Sears and Paul Spencer for the benefit of her minor grandchildren, 105 Westwood Ave, E. Longmeadow, 01028. "
