"Palmer, William D. Snyder, 70, of Boston Rd., died suddenly on Tuesday, December 20. Born in Chicopee, July 31, 1941, he lived for many years in the Monson and Palmer area. He served his country in the Army from 1960 – 1965. Always fun loving and a kid at heart, Bill never really grew up, but made his mark as a businessman in the area, having established M & M Paving in 1981. He retired in 2008 after 27 years. He had also worked previously on the Trans-Alaska Pipeline, as well as having worked for Palmer Paving for many years. Among the many ways Bill loved a good time was riding his Harley, as well as travelling in his RV, and, most recently, wintering in Port St. Lucie, FL, where he made many lasting and meaningful friendships. His greatest loves were children and family. He will be deeply missed by his wife of 32 years, Marilyn J. (Perry) Snyder, along with his children, Paula Wehr and husband James of Monson, James Pappas and wife Amanda of Three Rivers, and Sean Snyder and wife Laura of Palmer. He also leaves his 8 precious grandchildren, Erica, Alysa, Felicia, Zachary, Brett, Daniel, Jaime Lynn and Mya. Additionally, 3 brothers Edward of N. Adams, Frederick and wife Carol of Monson, and Robert and wife Teresa of Thorndike, along with several nieces and nephews survive him. Calling hours will be Tuesday, December 27 from 4:00 – 7:00 p.m. at the Beers & Story Palmer Funeral Home. A Funeral Mass will be Wednesday, December 28 at St. Thomas Church in Palmer at 10:00 a.m. Friends and family may gather at the funeral home at 9:00 a.m. prior to the mass or meet directly at the church. To honor Bill's memory, the family requests that donations be made in his memory to Shriner's Hospital for Crippled Children, Carew St., Springfield. "
