Harold Sylvester Parrott, 98, passed away peacefully at his home in Greenspring on Oct 15, 2016. He was predeceased by his wife, Helen, in 2002, and his son, Dale, in Aug., 2016. He is survived by his daughter-in-law, Susan; his grandchildren, Jason Dale Parrott and Suzanne Leigh Myrick (Jacob); great grandchildren, Collin Parrott and Ella and BenjaminMyrick. He also leaves behind many cousins, nieces, and nephews. Born in Falls Church on Nov 30, 1917, Harold was an Army veteran and then worked for the Civil Aeronautics Board, retiring as a division chief in 1976. He received his Bachelor of Science in Commerce in 1939 and his Masters in Economics in 1940 both from The University of Virginia. Harold and his family lived in Lake Barcroft for many years and after Helen’s death, he moved to Greenspring. A Celebration of Life will take place on Wednesday, October 19, 2016 at 2:00 PM, at Greenspring Village Chapel, 7410 Spring Village Dr., Springfield, Virginia. He was devoted to his family, enjoyed traveling and gardening, and was a licensed private pilot for many years. He was an avid Redskins and UVa sports fan. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to The Greenspring Philanthropy Fund.
