Cheryl Lynne Sprouse Cheryl Lynne Sprouse passed away on February 10, 2023. She was born on May 29, 1951 in Lynchburg, Virginia. She was the daughter of the late Essie Ellen Campbell Sprouse and Elwood Gleason Sprouse. She was preceded in death by her brothers Larry Gleason Sprouse and Garrett Elwood Sprouse; a niece, Tamara Sue and Fran Small Sprouse, sister in law. Cheryl was an active member of Rivermont Avenue Baptist Church for over 50 years. She moved her membership to Beulah Baptist Church where she was active in the choir. She is survived by a sister, Sharon Sprouse Patterson (Tom) of Ormond Beach, Florida; four nieces, Shannon Patterson Del Valle (Norbert) of Edgewater, Florida; Rhonda Sprouse, Madison Heights, VA; Stephanie Sprouse Brinkley (Frank) of Wilmington, N.C.; Jennifer Sprouse Mathews (Madison) of Boiling Springs, S.C.; one nephew, Neil Watson Patterson (Sarah) of Forest, Va. ; three great nieces, Kaylie Brinkley, Caroline Campbell Patterson, Zoe Mathews and two great nephews, Oliver Brinkley and Benjamin M. Patterson. Cheryl was a member of the Grand Chapter of Virginia, Order of the Eastern Star, where she served as Worthy Matron, Rustburg Chapter 23 and Liberty Chapter 109 and in other positions as well over the past 35 years. She was an advocate for education for over 40 years as a teacher in Bedford County. Cheryl was employed at Fort Hill Memorial Park as a Family Service Counselor. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Beulah Baptist Church.
