Sheryle Isaacs, 68, of St.Petersburg, Florida, passed away on March 6, 2013 in St Petersburg, FL. Born in Columbia, S.C. on June 23,1944, the daughter of the late Hyman and Minna Rothberg, she was raised in Columbia and graduated with honors from local schools. She attended the University of Florida in Gainesville, where she met her future husband, Howard Isaacs, They were married on December 25, 1965 and have resided in St Petersburg since that date. The Isaacs started the Good Buy retail stores and wholesale operations in St Petersburg and had a long term serving many local businesses and resellers on the Florida west coast and then nationally before selling the business and retiring. Sheryle was an industry wide author/speaker and distinguished herself by becoming a mentor and leading figure for women in the textile and retail merchandising field. She was a member of the Executive Forum, the prestigious Society of International Business Fellows and a volunteer advisor for S.C.O.R.E., the senior corps of retired executives. The business she co-founded, Good Buy, was designated as the Florida Small Business of the Year and represented the state at a nationwide recognition event in Washington, D.C.. The following year, Sheryle was named as the INC Magazine "Entrepreneur of the Year". Personally, Sheryle was an avid hiker, gourmet cook, creative gardener, accomplished reader, energized and knowledgeable traveler and caring friend. She is survived by her husband, Howard M. Isaacs of St Petersburg, son, Dr. Scott Isaacs M.D.of Atlanta and daughter-in-law, Fiona and granddaughter, Arabella, daughter Lori Johns and grandson Chase of St Petersburg and her faithful and playful canine friend, Willy. Also survived by her brother Andrew "Andy" Rothberg and his wife of Columbia, S.C.; sister Eileen Abrahms and family of Atlanta. The immediate family sincerely appreciates the family, friends and visitors whose recent contacts with Sheryle gave her comfort and validation that she had truly "made her mark" on so many through her sharing, teaching, nurturing and mentoring. Some say that "We are just passing through this world" and if that is one's belief or not, it cannot be denied that Sheryle's influence and accomplishments survive through those for whom she was the role model.
