Prentiss C. Smith, 78 of St. Petersburg passed away on January 10, 2013. A native of Booneville, MS. He proudly served in the Navy and moved to St. Petersburg in 1968 from Chicago, IL. He worked for the Chicago Transit Authority and Clark Oil in Chicago, IL. In St. Petersburg, he was the owner/operator of Shell service stations and also owned Tony's Deli in Madeira Beach. He held a private pilot's certificate and enjoyed flying in his younger days. He also enjoyed fishing, watching baseball, telling stories and spending time with his family. Survivors include his wife of 49 years Charlene; daughters Sandra, Kathy and Jackie (Clay), sons Paul, Tony (Kelly), Jeff (Susie), David (Jackie) and Chris (Kristie); sisters Louise and Ruby (Michael), and grandchildren Michael, Ashley, Lauren, Alan, Ashley, Kyle, Ryan, Jeffrey, Kayla, Haley, Madeline, Jackson; and great-grandchild Luke.
