Terrence Patrick Griffin
June 20th, 1948 - September 30th, 2023
Terrence Patrick Griffin passed away on Saturday, September 30, 2023 after a lengthy battle with the effects of dementia. He was born June 20, 1948 in Gallipolis, OH, son of the late John Thomas Griffin Jr. and Eve Moore Griffin. He was the third born of a large family that resided in Gallipolis and Portsmouth, Ohio. In 1965, he graduated from Notre Dame High School in Portsmouth. Terry was a veteran of the US Navy and served during the Vietnam War as a hospital corpsman, and served in the naval reserves for two years after his discharge. He spent a lengthy career as a master carpenter specializing in finish work and restorations. He had a long obsession with classic cars, and would love to tell stories about the great cars he owned throughout his life. He enjoyed listening to music, and would occasionally sing traditional Irish tunes in remembrance of the times his father and brothers would sing together as kids. Terry was an avid reader and loved books about samurai and historical fiction. He fostered this interest into collecting military memorabilia and collectables over the years. Terry is survived by his children, Terrence Patrick (Lori) Roe, IN; Lori Christine Jenkins, OH; Hali Eve Griffin, OR; and Jason Marcus (Margarita Wilson) Ozier, OR; grandchildren, Laken Taylor (Jason Clark) Jenkins Emmert, Kalen Love Jenkins, Patrick Kelly Jenkins, Chole Lou Jenkins, Kennedy Christine Jenkins, Keely Marie Roe, Griffin Terriss Roe, Melina Wilson, Sophia Ashley Ozier, Alexander Ray Bachtel; great-grandchildren, Wyatt Irvin Jenkins, Silas Cisco Clark.
