Charles Edward “Ed” Catron, 90, of Weber City, VA, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, January 28, 2024 at Holston Valley Medical Center. Ed was born on June 30, 1933 in Rose Hill, VA. He was retired from the DMV in Abingdon, VA. Ed was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force having served our country in the Korean Conflict and Vietnam War. He was a long time member of First Baptist Church of Weber City and attended Sally’s Chapel Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his wife, Peggy L. Catron; parents, Cull Catron and Alberta Ritchie Catron. Surviving are his daughters, Pamela Richardson and husband Tommy, Linda Metcalfe, Amber Throssell and husband Colin, and Sally Melton and husband Rick; grandchildren, Randy Brookshire, Ryan Brookshire, Josh Richardson, Travis Maloney, April Spears, Krystal Spears, Travis Spears, Chelsi Metcalfe, Craig Throssell and wife Jo, Carly White and husband Daniel, Chris Melton, Michael Melton, James Melton and wife Cheryl; great-grandchildren, Kylee, Trenton, Charlie, Kevon, Kordell, Alexis, Malcolm, Amelie, Macie, Emmy, Sophia, Sienna, Harry, Ellyse, and Aaliyah; 4 great-great grandchildren; brothers, Dave Catron, Frank Catron and Kenny Catron. No formal services are planned at this time. Carter-Trent/Scott County Funeral Home, Weber City, VA is in charge of the arrangements.
