Ray Hicks
March 15th, 1937 - August 20th, 2012
Mr. Ray Hicks, 75, of Greensboro, died Monday, August 20, 2012, at Wesley Long Hospital. Funeral services will be 11:00 am Thursday, at Lambeth-Troxler Funeral Home, conducted by Reverend Don Clemant. Burial will follow at Forest Lawn Cemetery. Mr. Hicks was born March 15, 1937, in Avery County, North Carolina. He was married to Shirley Wehunt Hicks for over 50 years. He retired from Industries for the Blind and was very involved with Beep Ball and Blind Bowling. He loved all sports, walking, and growing his roses. He will be deeply missed. Mr. Hicks is survived by his wife Shirley W. Hicks; daughter, Angela Hicks and fiancé Mark Sarnecki; sisters, Willa-Dean Piercy (Johnny), Mary Lou Fredell, and Frances Honeycutt; brother, David E. Branch (Tonnie); and several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 pm Wednesday, at Lambeth-Troxler Funeral Home.
