John Allen Cauthen, 78, of West Columbia, SC, passed away October 12, 2021. He was born on September 7, 1943 in Biloxi, MS to the late Mr. & Mrs. Milton Cauthen. John was a veteran of the US Army. After his service in the Army, he moved to Columbia where he met his future wife, Jean. He retired from the City of West Columbia as a Building Official. He was also owner of Cauthen Homes, where he and his son built custom homes. John is survived by his wife, Jean Morrow Cauthen; son, Russell Cauthen (Hope); his grandchildren, Bella Rose and Lucas Cauthen. A graveside service for Mr. Cauthen take place a 2:00pm on Sunday, October 17, 2021 at Celestial Memorial Gardens. Family and friends may sign the online guest book at www.thompsonsfuneral.com
