James Jameson
June 5th, 1935 - May 30th, 2014
Lt. Col. James John Jameson (Ret) June 5, 1935 – May 30, 2014 Jim was born in Upper Darby, Pennsylvania to James John Jameson and Walburg Theresa McKane Jameson on June 5, 1935. The family moved with his sisters Beverly and Pat to California in 1945. He graduated in 1953 from Monrovia-Arcadia-Duarte High School. After high school he attended the United States Military Academy in West Point, New York and graduated in 1957. After graduation he served in the US Army in various locations throughout the world, including a tour in Vietnam. He retired as a Lt. Col. in 1978, after which he and his wife, Barbara owned their own tax consulting business until 2010. Jim is survived by his wife Barbara Prior Jameson of Monument, Colorado; son, David Jameson and wife Misty and their two children David and Matthew, of Hill Air Force Base, Utah. He is also survived by his daughter Laura Bakke and her husband Eric and their two children Mark and Meredith of McKinney, Texas. Jim was preceded in death and his parents and sisters by his oldest son James J. Jameson III. Other surviving are Yoko Shimatsuka and her husband Ken Landon of Brooklyn, NY and Dan and Tina Prior of Montrose, Colorado and their daughter Autumn. A memorial service will be held on Saturday June 7 at 2 p.m. at New Life Church in Colorado Springs, Colorado. Donations may be made to Mother’s Against Drunk Driving or the National Mill Dogs Rescue in Colorado Springs.
