Margie W. Harmon, 90, of Lexington, SC passed away Sunday, October 2, 2022. A service for Margie will take place Wednesday, October 5, 2022, at 1:00 pm at Red Bank Baptist Church, 1357 S. Lake Dr. Lexington, SC. The family will greet friends Tuesday, October 4, 2022, from 6:00 – 8:00 pm at Thompson Funeral Home, 4720 Augusta Rd. Lexington, SC. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Margie’s name to Red Bank Baptist Church. Margie was born January 25, 1932, in Wilkesboro, NC, to the late Wade Hampton and Blanche Fletcher Whittington. She is preceded in death by her husband, A. Jay Harmon; and brothers, Robert, Marvin, and Bill Whittington. She is survived by her sister, Margaret Galliher of Statesville, NC; sister-in-laws, Joyce and Athleen Whittington of Wilkesboro, NC; nieces, Daisy Hicks (Terry) and Wanda Weaver (Mike) both of Lexington, SC; cousin, Pat Hodges (Larry) of FL; and many nieces and nephews in Statesville and Wilkesboro, North Carolina. Margie was a member of Red Bank Baptist Church. She retired from BB&T. After that she filled her time with volunteering at Lexington Medical Center where she gave over 500 hours of her time. She was a loving aunt to her nieces and nephews and will be remembered for her kind ways and compassionate soul. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends.
