Jerry Earl Nesmith, 77, of Hanahan, SC, entered into eternal rest on July 26th, 2012, at the Hospice of Mt. Pleasant. A memorial service will be held Wednesday, August 1st, 2012, at Christ Church, 2304 N. Hwy 17, Mt. Pleasant. Floral arrangements may be sent to Christ Church. He was preceded in death by his wife Dorothy Starks Nesmith of Olmstead, KY. He is survived by his sister Barbara Wilson of Edgewood, KY, and by his 4 children, J. Dane Nesmith of Huger, SC, J. Scott Nesmith of Burlington, KY, Joellyn Nesmith Geary of Tucson, AZ, and Jerry Lynn Nesmith of Morgantown, NC. He is also survived by four granddaughters. Mr. Nesmith was a veteran of both the Korean and Vietnam conflicts. He retired from the Navy after 20 years’ service. He was a master carpenter and used these skills working civil service for the Air Force for 20 years. There will be a reception in the parish hall immediately following the service. Any donations in lieu of flowers should be made to Christ Church.
