Alfred Russ, born October 2, 1930, in Iron City, TN, passed away May 30, 2020 in Columbia, SC. The eldest son of Courtney and Inez Russ, he had two brothers; Lloyd (predeceased) and Bernard Russ, two sisters; Lena Kilgo (predeceased) and Kathryn Roberson. He was married to Mary Russ of Alcolu, SC. Mary passed away in 2007. He is survived by six children; Dianne McManus, Terri Russ, Roy Russ, Jay Russ, Roger Russ and Daryl Russ, six grandchildren; Tracy Wiggins, Brian McManus, Kim Jones, Kelli Carter, Courtney Russ and Caitlyn Russ, ; six great-grandchildren; Sarah Wggins, Johnathan Wiggins, Kylie Jones, Cohen Jones, Caleb Jones and Chloe Carter. Retiring after 20 years in the US Army, he committed his life to teaching, preaching and spreading the word of God wherever he went- Welcome Home.
