Jim passed away peacefully at Lutheran Medical Center On November 4th, 2017. Jim is survived by his loving (wife) Laura Lucille “Lou” Awalt, (son) William “Scott” Awalt, granddaughter Brittany Hill, and great-grandchildren Ryan, Delayni, Danny. Jimmy or Jim, as he called himself, was preceded in death by his parents (father) James William Awalt, (stepmother) Betty Awalt,—(mother)Mary Awalt (maiden name. venters), (younger brother) Jack Awalt (eldest son) Robert Ernest Awalt. Jimmy and Lou were married on Feb 14th, 1970 after he served about 2 years in the US. ARMY Stationed in ft. Carson where he fell in love with the mountains of Colorado. Jim worked for Caterpillar for 9 years first in assembly before moving to the office. Jimmy and Lou moved to Colorado in 1972. Where he took work at Gates Tire & Rubber Co. For 19 1/2 years before the plant closed. After gates closed he work as a security guard in companies like Ball, Jolly Rancher, the beef processors in the Denver metro area before retiring. Jim was a very valuable member of the local Denver Apple Pi club, a computer user group working with Apple computers, serving as a Board member. He helped many with their hardware and software problems for more than 15 years. He was great at researching and giving leads for special deals when asked about computer programs and equipment. He is already missed by all that knew him for his sense of humor, his computer knowledge and always willing to help so many with so much patience. Jim was A true friend, loving husband, and father. Especially loved by Lou and Scott and surviving family. After cremation, there will be no services, per his request.
