Kirk Alan Sickler was born to Louis Ronald Sickler and Jeanette Ann (Lazare) Sickler on September 6, 1959 in Denver, Colorado. Kirk lived his early life in the Denver Metropolitan area and later in Hudson and Wiggins, Colorado. He married Darlene Autry on April 25, 1981 and proudly parented four sons, Robert, Omar, Louis Kirk and Kenneth. All of his family survives his death. After completion of high school in 1977 at Weld Central High School located in Keenesburg, Colorado, Kirk enlisted in the Navy. He served on the USS Belleau Wood, LHSA-3 and received his Honorable Discharge on July 28, 1983. After attending Red Rocks Community College in Golden, he entered public service as a firefighter for the City of Thornton, Colorado. He was forced into early retirement as a result of a back injury. Kirk was an avid outdoorsman and loved camping, fishing and hunting. He also enjoyed cooking and considered himself an amateur chef. Kirk departed this world on July 4, 2018 at the age of 58. He was preceded in death by his mother, Jeanette. His memory will always be cherished by his father, Louis, brothers, Louis and Terry, sister Deborah, his sons, and 8 grandchildren. Kyndra, Bryce, Mckensie, Caylee, Taylor, Trinity, Louis Caleb and Louis. A memorial service will be held at Fort Logan National Cemetry on September 4, 2020. A reception/dinner will follow at the Stone House in Lakewood, Colorado.
