Steven Wayne Funk
December 3rd, 1956 - September 28th, 2017
STEVEN WAYNE FUNK Steven W. Funk was born on December 3, 1956 in Vancouver, Washington. He passed away on September 28, 2017 in Colton, Oregon. Shortly after his birth the family moved to Oregon where Steven was primarily raised. He moved to Seaside while in the Coast Guard. In 1980 Steven moved back to Portland, in 1996 he moved to Tualatin and then in 2009 he moved to Colton. Steven graduated from Benson High School in 1975. He went to truck driving school in the early 80’s and he also received an associate’s degree in airframe and power plant (Aircraft mechanic) from Portland Community College in 1988. Steven proudly served his country in the U.S. Coast Guard from 1975 to 1979. While serving in the U.S. Coast Guard he married Kaye Ellen Funk on July 24, 1976. Steven had various odd jobs after the serving in the Coast Guard, he was truck driver/mechanic, aircraft mechanic, and he did CDL training he also was a CDL skills test examiner. When not working he loved to go camping, hunting, and do seemingly endless house remodels. Steven was a member of the Molalla Assembly of God Church, the Oregon Royal Rangers, Frontier Camping fellowship (FCF); and the National Rifle Association (NRA). Steven is survived by his wife, Kay Ellen Funk of Colton; son, Justin Wayne Funk of Colton; daughter, Amanda Lee Fiebelkorn of Beaverton; mother, Berniece Marie Funk of Molalla; sister, Robyn Marie Lentz of Oakland; nieces, Taraleigh Sarah Lentz of Molalla and Melyssa Marie Baker of Oakland. Steven was preceded in death by his father, Herbert Wayne Funk who passed away in 2013. Services will be held at 3:00 pm on Saturday, November 11, 2017 at the Molalla Assembly of God Church, 217 S Molalla Avenue, Molalla, Oregon 97038. A reception will follow at the Molalla Adult Community Center, 315 Kennel Street, Molalla, Oregon 97038. In lieu of flowers please make a donation in Steven’s name to the Molalla Assembly of God Church or the Oregon Royal Rangers.
