Wanda Gayle Engle Davis went to her heavenly home on September 24, 2019, after a short battle with a form of Multiple Myeloma called Plasma Cell Leukemia, a ferocious disease.  Wanda was born August 17, 1950, in Tribune, Kansas, the second daughter of Everett Russell Engle, Jr. (Russ) and Vivian Lee Kinlund Engle.  Wanda, and her older sister Linda Lee, welcomed another sister, Nina Carrol to the family a couple of years later.  Wanda grew up in Tribune, surrounded by a large, loving extended family, and a caring small town community.  She graduated from Greeley County High School in 1968, and then went to college at Kansas State Teacher’s College (now Emporia State University) in Emporia, KS.  Early in her sophomore year, she met the love of her life, Tom Davis.  They married in August of 1970, and both finished up their degrees in Education at KSTC in May 1972.  Shortly after that they moved to Loveland, Colorado where Tom had secured a teaching job.  Wanda taught in Loveland for several years.  They welcomed three sons, Ryan, Blake and Drew, who became her joy and focus in life.  She left teaching and worked various part-time jobs that allowed her to be home with her precious boys.  She later worked as a Periodontal Surgical Assistant for Dr. Lloyd Thomas in Fort Collins for 23 years, retiring in 2016.  It is said that the dash between the date of your birth and the date of your death is the story of your life.  Wanda certainly made the most of her dash.  She loved her God, her family, her friends, her country and her Cocker Spaniels.  She and Tom were always active in their church, embracing the call to ministry. She enjoyed being a pastor’s wife.  She attended numerous activities and events the boys were involved in.  She made every holiday and birthday a festive family event.  She cooked special favorites for her boys and family and was well known for her decadent desserts.  She was always there for her family and friends.  As her grandchildren came along, she relished every minute with them.  They were were the light of her life.  She was always "on call” to babysit.  She babysat on Mondays, her day off when she was still working.  She continued doing that after she retired.  She loved Loveland and living in the Rocky Mountains.  She always said after her move into her house on Sablewood, her next stop was heaven. Wanda is survived by her husband of 49+ years, Tom; her sons Ryan (Kathy), Blake (Leah) and Drew (Allyson); her grandchildren Addison Hammond, Caroline, Annabelle, and Nathan Davis, Hudson, Porter and Wellsley Davis; her sister Linda Eustace (Steve); sisters-in-law Barbara Bartoski, Linda Kuhnhoff;  nieces Melissa Brooks Harris, Stacy McDowell, Heather Rohner, Amanda Rowe; and nephews Matthew Brooks and Brandon Bartoski.  Her extended family of aunts, uncles and cousins also mourn her death.  Her dogs Ryleigh and Mazie miss her too.  Wanda is preceded in death by her parents, her sister Nina Engle Brooks, and her father-in-law and mother-in-law, Martin (Bus) and Mildred Davis. A celebration of life will be held at Timberline Church, 2908 S Timberline Rd., Fort Collins, CO on Thursday, October 3, 2019 at 11:00.  A reception will follow.  Cremation has taken place. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be sent to The Multiple Myeloma Research Foundation, www.themmrf.org or Caring Bridge, www.caringbridge.org.  The family will also take donations towards a memorial bench honoring her.  It will be placed in Mehaffey Park in Loveland, a place her family often visits.  Memorials can be sent through Viegut Funeral Home.
