Thomas Raymond Stanton Jr
July 24th, 1934 - January 1st, 2017
Thomas "Ray" Stanton Jr., 82, of Sebastian, Florida passed away, January 1, 2017, at Levine & Dickson Hospice House at Southminster in Charlotte, North Carolina. Ray was born on July 24, 1934 and raised in Brookhaven, Pennsylvania, where he was the oldest of six siblings; one sister and 4 brothers. Ray joined the Army shortly after graduating from West Catholic High School. Thereafter, Ray was employed by and retired from the United States Postal Service, delivering mail in both Chester and Aston, Pennsylvania. As a devoted husband of over 40 years to wife, Jennifer "Dale" Stanton, who preceded him in death, Ray raised four sons in Boothwyn and Southern Lancaster County in Pennsylvania. Ray was an avid Philadelphia Eagles fan and enjoyed watching college football. He was a dedicated father and family man, who had a genuine appreciation for the game of horseshoes and a sincere love of dogs, recently leaving behind his faithful friend, Bear. Ray truly enjoyed spending quality time with his family and friends. Ray is survived by his children, James Stanton of Smyrna, Delaware, Paul Stanton (Angel) of Kirkwood, Pennsylvania, David Stanton (Susan) of Henderson, Nevada and Brian Stanton (Sarah) of Charlotte, North Carolina; grandchildren, Jimmy, Nathan, Jarrett, Austin, Addison, Avery, Thomas, Jacob and Joseph; sister, Ann McCunney (Edward); 3 brothers, Bill (Mary) of Pennsylvania, Bob (Barbara) of Delaware, and Paul (Linda) of Pennsylvania. He was preceded in death by his wife Jennifer, brother, Joseph Stanton and his parents Thomas and Anna Stanton. A mass memorial service will be held on Friday, January 13th, 2017 at 11:30 a.m. at Sacred Heart Church (203 Church Rd Oxford, PA 19363), immediately followed by a graveside service at Oxford Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in the name of Thomas Stanton to either Levine & Dickson Hospice House at Southminster ( or American Cancer Society (https://donate.cancer.org). Tribute Cremation Society is serving the Stanton family.
