Bettye Evelyn Wampler Dotson, 91, formerly of McKelvey Street in Charlotte, passed away on Sunday, April 1, 2018 in Richmond, Virginia. Born Christine Gilmer Wampler on May 22, 1926 in Big Stone Gap, Virginia, Bettye was the seventh and last remaining of the seven children of the late William E. and Margaret T. Wampler. She was predeceased by her husband of 42 years, Emry M. Dotson. Bettye is survived by her son, William W. Dotson of Mechanicsville, Virginia; her daughter, Myron Dotson Bailey of Charlotte; two grandchildren, Damien E. Bailey of Charlotte and Erin M. Mukhia (Amit) of Fort Myers, Florida and two great grandchildren, Aahanashree Evelyn Mukhia and Kiaan Dotson Mukhia, also of Fort Myers. Visitation will be held on Monday morning April 9, 2018 at 10:00 AM at J.B. Tallent Funeral Service at 1937 Sharon Amity Road in Charlotte. The funeral service will follow at 11:00 AM, also at J.B.
