David Alan Tveit, 68 of Floodwood passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, March 14, 2021 in St. Luke's Hospital in Duluth. He was born July 18, 1952 in Duluth to Donald and Helen (Suonvieri) Tveit. David grew up in Floodwood and graduated from Floodwood High School in 1970. After high school he attended Mechanic School. He worked for Seaward Power Company constructing power lines throughout Utah, Colorado and Montana. In his day, he did climb a few power lines. On December 22, 1987 he married Clare Robinson and he decided to stop traveling and settle back down in Floodwood. In addition to working as a mechanic, David was a lifelong logger. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening, farming and was a motorcycle enthusiast. David was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Kristie Tveit; and brother, Thomas Tveit. He is survived and will be sadly missed by his wife, Clare; daughters, Angela Tveit of Wassila, Alaska, Cari Moloschnikow of Shorewood and Tina Ceaser of Blaine; son, Joshua (Melissa) Ceaser of Anoka; sisters, Peggy Minko of Superior and Amy (Dennis Evans) Rosenholm of Atlanta, GA; 13 grandchildren; two great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; and his faithful canine companion, Chili. A gathering of family and friends will take place Saturday, May 22, 2021 from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m. at the Floodwood Fair Building.
