Irene C. Danise

Randall, NY- Irene Cecelia Danise, 84, of Old River Road, passed away Wednesday, February 3, 2016, at the Albany Medical Center. Born October 7, 1931 in Chateaugay, New York, she was the daughter of the late Elmer and Lillian Decosse Demarse. She was a graduate of the Chateaugay High School later she moved to Fultonville in 1969 from Danbury, CT. Irene co-owned and operated with her late husband Ferdinand the Hotel Arthur in Fultonville and also the Danise Liquor. She was last employed by St. Mary's Hospital in Amsterdam retiring in 1993. Her passion was reading, shopping and going out to dinner and most of all spending time with her grandchildren. In 1950 she married Ferdinand Danise who passed away in 2013. She was also predeceased by her daughter Lori Danise who passed away in 2004. Survivors include three sons, Gary Danise (Karen) of Schenectady, Randy Danise (Ann) of Gloversville and Fred Danise (Missy) of Broadalbin; two daughters, Darlene Monk (Stephen) of Fultonville and Diane Danise (Vito Fox) of Colonie; a brother John Demarse of Plattsburg; five sisters, Mary Becker of Waterford, Rita Delmar of Watervielet, June Ronk of Middletown, Betty DiNuzzo of Guilderland and Janet Cromwell of New Milford, CN; 15 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren; 1 great great granddaughter; several nieces, nephews and cousins. Memorial services will be held on Tuesday, February 9, 2016, at 2:00 pm at the Jackson & Betz Funeral Home, 15 Main Street, Fultonville, NY with the Rev. O. Robert DeMartinis presiding. Burial will follow at St. Mary's Cemetery in Fort Johnson. The family will receive relatives and friends on Tuesday from 12 noon until 2:00 pm at the funeral home.
