April 4th, 1955 - December 6th, 2021
Donald H. Peterson, 66, of Midline Road, Amsterdam passed away on December 6, 2021 at Ellis Hospital. Born in Amsterdam on April 4, 1955, he is the son of the late Leon and Sophie (Wilczynsky) Peterson. Donald is survived by his loving wife of 36 years Donna (Flansburg) Peterson whom he married on April 28, 1985, his son Jeffery (Jenelle) Peterson of Perth, and daughter Molly Peterson and her fiance Michael Cole of Amsterdam. Also survived by his brother Ronald (Veronica) Peterson of Buffalo, his grandson whom he adored Waylon Peterson, also by many cousins, nieces, and nephews. Besides his parents Donald is predeceased by his daughter Katy M. Peterson who passed away on June 27, 2014. During his lifetime Don was a 1973 graduate of Perth High School, and was the owner and operator of Peterson’s Garage in Amsterdam. Don was a lifetime member and former board member of Bigelow Weavers Club, and was an avid stock-car fan. Donald was a loving father and enjoyed spending time with family and friends. Relatives and friends are invited and may call at the Betz, Rossi & Bellinger Family Funeral Home, 171 Guy Park Avenue, Amsterdam, NY 12010 on Saturday December 11, 2021 from 3 pm to 5 pm with a 5 pm service at the funeral home. Masks are required for all services. In lieu of flowers contributions in memory of Donald may be made to the Brennan Humane Society, 437 9 Mile Tree Road, Gloversville, NY 12078.
