Rosemary Powers (née Sheridan) 81, passed away peacefully on March 2nd, surrounded by her loving family. Rosemary was born on January 19, 1939 in the Inwood section of Manhattan to James and Eileen (nee O’Malley) Sheridan. Rosemary’s parents were first generation Irish immigrants from County Mayo who met and married in New York City and raised Rosemary and her brother, John, in devotion, love and faith. Good Shepard Catholic School and Church were the basis of her love and lifelong devotion to her catholic faith. She graduated from Mother Cabrini High School. Rosemary then attended the Berkeley School of Business. She met and married her loving husband of 59 years Michael “Mickey” Powers at Good Shepard Church. Rosemary was a long time resident of West Haverstraw, NY where she and Mickey raised their three children. Rosemary had a unique sense of style and loved to decorate. Her greatest joy was her family on whom she showered her love and affection. Rosemary had a tight knit circle of dear friends. They loved to explore new places and had many fun adventures together. Rosemary was known for her quick wit and sense of humor, and she made friends wherever she went. Rosemary is survived by her devoted children Michael (Lori) Powers, Kelly Rothstein and Jeannine Powers. Her three loving grandchildren Chelsea, Ian and Casey Rothstein. Her Sister-In Law Ann Sheridan and her many nieces and nephews. Rosemary is predeceased by her husband Michael, her parents, and her brother John Sheridan. Services have been arranged through TJ McGowan and Sons Funeral Home in Garnerville NY on Friday March 6, 2020 from 2-4 PM and 7-9PM. A Catholic Mass will be held at 8:45 AM to 9:45 AM on March 7, 2020 at St. Peters Church in Haverstraw NY and burial to follow at 10:30 am at Gate of Heaven Cemetery 10 West Stevens Dr. Hawthorne, NY In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Gastroparesis Patient Association for Cures and Treatment. 185-132 Newberry Commons, Etters, PA. 17319.
