Karen Jean Sanders, 60, of rural Proctor, died Saturday, August 9, 2014 in Essentia Health St. Mary's Medical Center, Duluth, from a massive stroke. She was born in 1953 to Clifford and Rosemary Sanders of Chicago, Illinois. As an adult, Karen moved to Minnesota and pursued a Bachelor's Degree in English Literature. She worked as a faithful servant to many disabled adults within the Duluth area for many years. On December 12, 2013, she was married to James T. Brown of Moose Lake. Karen's passion was to serve her Lord, Jesus Christ, as she was a saint among saints. Her love and compassion for everyone was evident by the great number of people who loved and cared for her. She was preceded in death by her father, Clifford Sanders, and brother, Karl Sanders. Karen is survived by her husband, Jim; mother, Rosemary Sanders of New Brighton; brother, Cliff (Tracy) Sanders of Roland, OK; sister-in-law, Gina Benassi of Woodbury; nephews, Clifford Sanders, III of Las Vegas, NV and Adam Sanders of Roland, OK; nieces, Amy (Jon) Mathisen of Sartell, Jazmine Sanders of Roland, OK, and Kaylee Sanders of Woodbury; and step-nephew, William Lynn of Roland, OK. Memorial Services were held on Thursday, August 14, 2014 in Cloquet Gospel Tabernacle, 1440 Washington Avenue, Cloquet. Memorials are preferred to Cloquet Gospel Tabernacle.
