Roland Reuven Kopet

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Roland Reuven Kopet, who departed this world on August 7, 2024. Born on June 29, 1951, in Fort Bragg, North Carolina, but was raised in Queens Village New York. Roland was a New Yorker through and through. Roland lived a life of exceptional dedication, kindness, and service to his family, community, and country. Roland proudly served in the United States Air Force, an early chapter in a distinguished career that underscored his commitment to duty and excellence. After his military service, he transitioned into the medical field, serving as a radiologist at various hospitals to include Memorial Hospital and Westside Regional Hospital. Throughout his life, Roland balanced professional achievements with personal virtues. He was a member of the Tampa Chabad, contributing not only his time but also his generous spirit to support and uplift others. His colleagues and friends remember him for his honesty, loyalty, and his funny ways. Roland's kindness and sense of humor brightened the lives of all who knew him. 

Roland is survived by his devoted wife of 20 years, Jenine Kopet, and his beloved daughters, Zara and Xena Kopet. He also leaves behind his brothers Barry, Stanley (Bridget), and Roger (Anahita) as well as close family members Mikel, Jason, Joshua, Devin, and Zach. His passing is deeply felt by all who were fortunate enough to know him. Roland was preceded in death by his parents, Carl and Zerlina Kopet, and his cherished sisters Elaine, Juliet, and Cassandra. The love and memories they shared remain a lasting legacy. 

A graveside service will be held in his honor at the Florida National Cemetery on Monday, August 12, 2024, at 1300 hours. The family invites all who knew Roland to attend and pay their respects. In this time of loss, we remember Roland for the wonderful man he was—a devoted husband, loving father, stalwart brother, and loyal friend. His legacy of kindness, generosity, and integrity will be remembered and cherished by all who knew him. Roland Reuven Kopet's life was a testament to the virtues of service, family, and faith. May his soul rest in eternal peace.
