Thair had a magnetic personality that drew people to him, he always had a story to tell with that twinkle in his eye that made you smile and stay enchanted to the end.

Thair was born in Gooding, Id to Clair B. Pond and Ruth Norine Leaper, Thair had 2 sisters, Maxine Wright and Louanna, all have preceded him in death.

Thair’s family moved to the Treasure Valley when he was young, Thair enjoyed his freedom as a child, he would ride his bicycle from Garden City to Table Rock and back in a day, knew to be home by suppertime or what the consequences were. Had a paper route that covered most of Garden City and learned the value of working hard to achieve the kind of life he wanted as a young man.

After high school, Thair moved to Seattle, Wa where he and a friend joined the service. Thair was with the 2nd of the 11th Cav and served in the DC riots before going to Vietnam, returning home in 1969 to Boise.

Thair went to college at BSU, married, (a few times), had 5 children: Andy Ragland, Chris Ragland, Justin Pond, Catie Pond and Scotty Pond. Thair has 3 stepchildren: James Shelton, Kevin Teague, Roberta Scott. He has 14 grandchildren, and 17 great grandchildren.

In 1981 Thair and Deborah Pond started Tomorrow’s Hope, a home and care facilities for adults and children with developmentally disabled. Thair was the CEO/administrator and will always be, “the heart of Tomorrow’s Hope”.

Thair enjoyed life. When he and Dee met, they were both ready for a new adventure, Thair with all his charm convinced Dee to move to Idaho in 2013. After much conversation and discussion, they married in March 2016.

Thair thoroughly enjoyed riding his bike, was happy when participating in the motorcycle community fundraisers, he is known as Father “T”, but that’s a story for another day. Thair also enjoyed fly fishing, camping, hiking in the mountains, and going for long walks. A devoted Steelheads fan was the Meridian Kiwanis President, football coach, nurturing father, was a good man with a caring heart that had compassion for everyone and never knew a stranger.

Accent Funeral Home

A local landmark in Meridian, Accent Funeral Home has been serving the community since 1986. The business was first established with a vision to offer services in a comfortable, homelike atmosphere. This vision is reflected in our building, a Tudor-style home built in 1938 for a local postman. When remodeling the house to accommodate the funeral home, much care was taken to preserve the original architectural integrity of the building. The Accent Funeral Home holds a special relationship with the Meridian community and is sensitive to the area’s changing needs, providing service and friendship to comfort those we serve....
