Charles Matthew Bump, PhD of Mohave Valley, Arizona, went to be with his Savior on Tuesday, October 15, 2024, He was born in Flushing, MI June 24, 1935 to Merrill and Jane (Harburn) Bump.Charles had an illustrious career in Microbiology, with degrees from Universities in Kentucky, Tennessee, and his doctorate from Northeastern, Charlie had a beautiful singing voice and was known for choirs and solos. He also was an actor in community plays. From his early childhood he was a stamp collector, as well as the author of four books and dozens of articles His love of dogs was well known His occupations included lab directors at hospitals in Boston (he was a lab instructor at Harvard) and Owosso, Michigan. He also taught microbiology in various colleges, including Mohave Community College. He was an avid reader and rarely did you find him without a book. He loved the Lord and no matter where he lived he was in church, He is survived by his wife of sixteen years Nancy (Morgridge), Children include sons Matthew(Karen) and Adam (Stacey) Bump of Owosso, MI., daughter Rachel (Jason) Britton of Calhan, CO, Stepsons Timothy and Todd (Pamela) Morgridge of Gaylord, MI, and Terrence (Cynthia) Morgridge in Mohave Valley, AZ, Grandchildren include Nathan, Abigal and Elana Bump. Owosso, Morgan (Charles) Sparks, and Emmary of Calhan, CO. In addition, step grandsons Dane (Lisa, Donald, Matthew, Greg (Sydnie), Joshua, Joseph (Dallas), Jon, and Harrison (Leanne) of Michigan, Pennsylvania and California. Several nieces and nephews as well as a new great granddaughter Sloan Sparks, He also survived by his brother Thomas (Evyn) Bump, sister Mary Rushin and former wife Sandy Lownds,Celebrations of life will be held in both Owosso and Mohave Valley. Charity contributions may be made in his memory to Nation to Nation.
